Mental Health Journeys Project
Goals
We are working towards getting a better understanding of how individuals move through the mental health care system, in order to identify potential gaps where people are falling through the cracks, as well as systems and services that are working well to provide much-needed care to those who are struggling. Our aim is to develop a comprehensive report that can then be shared with the appropriate policy-makers and system administrators to improve mental healthcare for ALL.
Methods
We are sending our volunteers out into the community to have conversations with real people who either have or are utilizing the mental health care system in the form of hospitals, counsellors, family doctors, psychiatrists, pharmacies, and other holistic and allopathic means of care. These conversations are fully anonymized by never recording the individuals name or any personal details, and are then coded to reflect keywords, as well as to design journey maps.
We are also working on developing an anonymous survey which we will be disseminating VIA email, social media, our partners, and our website.
Current
We are looking for individuals with lived or living experience who are willing to participate in these anonymous conversations as well as join our survey. The more participants we have, the stronger the report will be!
